Current Position:

This is my fourth year to be a teacher at this wonderful, caring, and loving elementary school.  We are a family here, and would like you and your child to be part of that family.  Last year I taught 5th and 6th grade Math.  I totally LOVE my “job”, and look forward to be a successful year teaching 5th grade Math and Science.  Although this will be my first year to teach 5th grade Science….no worries, I have plenty of great staff and self-dedication to make this an academically successful year!!

My ultimate goal as a teacher is to provide an educational environment that is positive and encouraging.  Students will be able to embrace their dreams and make them reality from the tools and skills that I have provided for them to be successful.  I would like my students to look back on their time they spent with me and remember me being a sincere individual who genuinely cared and gave each inspiration, empowerment, and the greatest gift of all, love.

Previous Position:

Before I came into the education field, I was an over-the-road truck driver (yes, an 18 wheeler), holding a Class A, CDL.  If that is not hard enough to believe, I was a chicken farmer for Sanderson Farms, raising over 400,000 broiler chickens at one time.  Then I had the most fulfilling job of all, being a stay-at-home-mom.  Although I did not make millions of dollars, I had the pleasure of staying home with both of my children before they started school.

After both my children started school, I became a paraprofessional for Wortham Elementary School for 6 years.  While holding this position, I went back to school to obtain my professional educator certification.  After much hard work and dedication, I became a Certified Teacher.

Family Information:

I am married to a wonderful guy and a very supportive husband, Mike.  Mike currently works a Luminant Big Brown Mine in Fairfield and retired Military.  We have been married for nearly 15 years.  We, together, have three children.  Two of those children live with us, and attend Wortham ISD.  Chandler is currently going to be a junior at Wortham High School, and Mika-Lyn will be going into the 8th grade.

Personal Information:

When I am not searching the web to find math concepts, doing lesson plans, or science now, I am very involved with my children.  Chandler is playing on Varsity football team this year (GO BULLDOGS!!) and will be in many more sports, and Mika-Lyn is a Wortham Jr. High Cheerleader.  When I am not busy with my wonderful outgoing children, I love to shop online, especially EBay.  I also love, love, love to cruise.  We try to have at least one family cruise each summer.  This is such a relaxing and joyful time with the family.  I have great memories of all of our cruises.
