Current Position:

I have been teaching in Wortham since 2007.  In that time period I have taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and been a Reading Interventionist.  Currently, I teach 4th grade ELA/social studies.

Previous Position:

Prior to working in Wortham, I taught in Rice and Corsicana. Before earning my teacher certification, I also operated a registered childcare, managed a resale shop, and worked in the hotel and restaurant industry.

Educational History:

I attended and graduated from Carman High School in Flint, Michigan in 1985.

I attended and graduated from both Navarro College and UT-Tyler.

Family Information:

I have five children, all of which are girls, ranging in age from 31 (gasp!) to 10. I also have four grandchildren with a 5th on the way (shhh...they call me KiKi as I am too young to be a grandma!).

I have one dog, Lily, a sheltie.

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching, I spend every extra minute with my kids and/or grandkids.  We love hanging out near water (ocean, lake, tank, puddle...anywhere near water). I also enjoy reading, riding bikes, and organizing my house.  My family and I love to travel and see new places especially if it involves camping.  We also enjoy swimming, bowling, card games, board games, movies, visiting with friends, and new experiences.  I am a regular farmer on Hay Day, and I have my own town near the beach in my online game of Township.  I figure since I don’t live near the beach in real life, I can live by the beach in virtual reality. : )
