May 21, 2013 will be the date for a community meeting regarding implementation of the new random drug testing policy for the next school year beginning 2013/14. The meeting will be held in the auditorium at 6 o'clock PM. Students, parents, teachers, and others interested are encouraged to attend.

The Bulldog Band is having a student recital on Monday May 20th at 7:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Wortham. Also, a Band Concert will be held in the Bulldog Gym on Thursday May 23rd at 6:30 pm.

Wortham has been awarded a loss prevention grant of $3500.00 for the 7th consecutive year. The grant was written by Sherry Shivers, Admin Assistant to the Superintendent and awarded by TASB Management Fund. more

Following discussions with TEA, WISD will not need to forfeit the Memorial Day holiday. Therefore, school will be closed as planned for Memorial Day.
Blake Hutson, BBQ Cookoff Champ: Blake Hutson represented Wortham FFA and the culinary arts program April 20 in the 6th annual Cypress Ridge BBO Cookoff. Blake won the chicken division, was 2nd in the brisket competition and 3rd in the ribs. He was named the Master Chef of the competition. For his efforts, Blake was presented with a $1000 scholarship and won an addition $225 for his placings in each event.

May 26, Baccalaureate in auditorium at 7pm
Starting May 27, the track will be closed for 2 weeks.
May 29, Kindergarten graduation in the auditorium at 6:30pm. Reception to follow in Bulldog Cafe'.
Both gyms and fitness center will be closed July 17th - 19th
