Wortham ISD will start school one hour late today due to road conditions to allow our students and staff more time to travel safely. We will still serve breakfast this morning. Please be safe!

Due to the heavy rains with more to come, the baseball and softball games originally scheduled for today have been rescheduled for Wednesday. Softball will take place in Axtell at 6:30, and baseball will be in Riesel at 6:00.

Due to the inclement weather and flooding roads,
Please make arrangements to pick up your student early today.
Be safe!

Waco Cardiology Associates will be offering a free heart screening to students throughout Central Texas on Saturday, May 4th, 9am – 12Noon. We are a private cardiology practice and offer this student screening as a community service.
Each year we find several students with enlarged hearts and other conditions that require further investigations by primary care physicians. Our goal is to make sure the children in our community have healthy hearts, and if they do not, their parents are informed.
All children aged 14-18 are eligible to participate.
We started this event back in 2003, after good friends lost their 15-year-old daughter. The mother took her children to swim at Baylor University and one of the daughters died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) during the swim. They had no idea their daughter had HCM, a thickening of the heart muscles.
Please help us by passing the attached information along to your students’ parents.
Questions? Please let me know: hr@wacocardiology.com or 254-399-5431.

School Closed Monday, April 8th.
